The eight remaining contestants of The Voice hit the stage on Monday night. Both Team Shakira and Team Usher currently have one member keeping them in the competition. Shakira is still holding on with Sasha Allen, who was voted into next week’s competition, while Usher appears to be safe for a while thanks to singer Michelle Chamuel, who jokes that she’s keeping her four eyes on the prize.
Chamuel could easily win season four of The Voice. She performed “Grenade” by Bruno Mars on Monday to an excited crowd of viewers who are routing for the singer. She really seems to appeal to the voters and by Tuesday she was declared safe.
Both Team Blake and Team Adam kicked off this week with three acts each, but by Tuesday Adam was left with just one member to his team. Fans voted for the elimination of Sarah Simmons and Judith Hill. Both singers had a great performance on Monday, but lost out to the final six contestants on Tuesday. The exit of both ladies has left Team Adam with singer Amber Carrington.
Carrington sang a fabulous rendition of Adele’s “Skyfall” complete with a full band and orchestra. The fans and the judges went crazy. Team Blake’s lone male act also gave a great performance. The Swon Brothers took the stage on Monday to sing “7 bridges Road” by The Eagles. The duo was declared safe by Tuesday night’s results show.
Team Blake’s Holly Tucker was voted into the live rounds slated to continue next week after singing “Done” by The Band Perry. Tucker has become known for her country fashion, especially her bedazzled cowboy boots. All four of the coaches were impressed by her performance, calling her incredible. As for Team Blake’s Danielle Bradbery, the singer secured a spot with “Grandpa” by The Judds. The 16-year-old didn’t show off her true potential, but just enough to stay safe.
The rest of this week’s highlights included a special guest performance by singer Sheryl Crow who sang for the audience on Tuesday. Crow treated fans to her new single “Easy” that comes off of her debut country album. Team members also took the stage to sing a round of great duets with one another throughout the Tuesday night results show.
The Voice is set to return next week with just six contestants remaining. The competition finale is set to air June 18 with just one act slated to become the winner of Season 4!
