The opening game of the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals takes place tonight in Madison Square Garden, as the New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils battle it out on the ice for the right to go to the Stanley Cup finals.
The Devils have been waiting a couple of days to get this series underway, as they advanced well before the Rangers. That was because New York needed all seven games before they were able to get back the Washington Capitals.
But we are at the finals now. So how do the odds stack up for Game 1 of this series?
Rangers vs Devils Game 1 Betting odds available at Bovada Sportsbook have set New York as favorites on the moneyline, going off at -135 on the amount wagered as the home team. New Jersey is just on the other side of the betting line, installed at +110.
For the goal-line, the Rangers will have to cover the 1.5-goal spread installed. However, New York is set at just +240 to over the line with a two goal victory or more. The Devils are heavy favorites to cover the line, installed at -280.
These two teams have been rather evenly split straight up over the course of their last several meetings. In fact, in the six times they met during the regular season, they split 3-3. This has the making for a competitive and compelling series.
The puck drops for Game 1 on Monday night at 8pm Et, with television coverage picked up by the NBC Sports Network.
There will also be a variety of Rangers and Devils Game 1 Game Props and Player Prop odds set down for the match up in addition to the moneyline and goal line available at Bovada, so be sure to check them out.
