NASCAR’s Hollywood Casino 400 Race Preview and Betting Odds

With five races left to go in the 2012 Chase for the Sprint Cup, it is obvious that time is running out for those in contention to make a strong move toward the top spot.

Currently Brad Keselowski is holding a 7 point lead over Jimmie Johnson and is just 15 ahead of Denny Hamlin and Clint Bowyer is 28 points behind.  Keselowski got off to a hot start in this year’s Chase winning two of the first three races.

But Clint Bowyer got a big win last weekend at Charlotte which helped move him into fourth.  Right behind him in the standings is Kasey Kahne who finished second two weeks ago marking his best finish in the Chase.

Sunday will provide a great opportunity for Kahne to make a move as he has won the pole for the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway.

It’s no secret that pole position at Kansas is key as getting up front once the race begins can be very difficult.  Mark Martin finished second in qualifying and he will be followed by Bowyer.

Kansas Speedway now has a new surface after renovations were done to it this summer.  It will be interesting to see how this race unfolds.

Bovada Sportsbook has fielded their Hollywood Casino 400 Betting Odds and have tagged Jimmie Johnson as the betting favorite with odds set at 4/1.  Hamlin rolls into the race with 5/1 odds while pole-winner Kahne is at 7/1.

The race is set for 2:00 pm ET and can be seen live on ESPN.
