Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has long been one of the top middleweights throughout his career. He has yet to lose a fight and has an overall record of 45-0-1 with 31 KO’s.
For the majority of his career, his fights never went the distance and stamina had not really been a big issue for him. But recently, dropping pounds to make weight has been an issue and might even be a cause for fatigue that has plagued him in the middle rounds of his most recent fights.
But he has always rebounded to come out on top. The title holder will now face arguably his biggest challenge as he steps into the ring with Andy Lee on Saturday night in his third title defense.
Lee hold an overall record of 28-1 with 20 KO’s. Like Chavez, he also had high expectations as being a top fighter in his weight class.
This fight will be huge for both as they look to move their way up the ladder. But it might be bigger for Lee as he enters the fight as a big underdog.
Bovada Sporstbook has fielded their Chavez vs Lee Betting Lines and have tagged Chavez as the betting favorite with a moneyline set at -400. This might seem like the safe wager but the payout is just .25 cents for every $1.00 wagered.
Going against the odds and betting on Lee will have the biggest reward if he should pull off the upset win. Lee has his moneyline set at +300 which means if he wins, the payout is $3.00 for every $1.00 wagered.
Bovada is also offering a wager on the OVER/UNDER in rounds which for betting purposes is set at 9 1/2. The OVER bet is favored and has a moneyline set at -250 which means the fight must go at least 10 rounds for this bet to win. If the fight goes 9 rounds or under, the bet goes to the UNDER which has a moneyline set at +120.
The Julio Ceasr Chavez vs Andy Lee fight can be seen live on HBO with coverage beginning at 10:00 pm ET.
