Entering the weekend 27th in the Sprint Cup Standings is not really where any NASCAR wants to be.  Even if it is still early in the season.

That is where Kasey Kahne finds himself as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to Martinsville on Sunday. However, Kahne has put himself in a good position to make a run up the ladder in the standings as he won the pole on Saturday for the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

This marks the second pole Kahne has won this season.  The first was at Vegas and he did not take advantage of this great starting spot and finished 19th in the race.

In a race that begins Sunday at 1:00 pm ET, Kahne will be looking to improve on not only his pole-start finish from Vegas, but also last weekend at California where he finished 19th.

Bovada Sportsbook has fielded their Odds To Win The Goody’s Fast Relief 500 and have Kahne installed with 15/1 odds. Points leader Greg Biffle will start the race 26th and he has his odds set at 45/1.

Denny Hamlin, who will start 3rd on Sunday, will enter the race as the betting favorite according to Bovada with odds set at 4/1.  Jeff Gordon will also start inside the top 10 and he has his odds set at 5/1.  Kyle Busch is set at 11/2 and Jimmie Johnson is at 6/1.
