One thing’s for sure, and that is that when Floyd Mayweather has a fight upcoming, the world of boxing becomes a centerpiece in the sporting world. Love him or hate him, Money Mayweather is quite the draw for the sport, perhaps the biggest ever. He will put his WBC Championship and undefeated record on the line this Saturday night May 4th, against challenger Robert Guerrero from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Mayweather has an unblemished 43-0 record, and will try to make that 44 wins without ever losing. Guerrero brings an impressive 31-1-1 record to this bout as well, as he is no stranger to winning big fights.
While Mayweather’s last fight will be almost one year to the day, when he defeated Miguel Cotto on May 5th, 2012, Guerrero has a much more recent victory back in November.
Neither have ever faced any common opponents so its difficult to look at how they compare to each other when it comes to fighting a similar opponent.
So all of these previews and analysis is pure speculation and only gauging about how we think these two stack up against each other.
When looking at the odds, it’s clear that Mayweather is the big favorite to retain his Welterweight title. Mayweather vs. Guerrero Betting odds available at Bovada Sportsbook have set the champion at -700 on the moneyline. That is a 1 to 7 payout for bettors looking to lay down some cash on the undefeated boxers. Guerrero comes in at the heavy underdog, going off at +500, which is a 5 to 1 payout for those looking to place a wager on the first boxer to ever defeat Mayweather.
MGM Grand – Las Vegas, Nevada – WBC welterweight title
But the betting odds certainly do not stop there. Bovada has flooded the sportsbook for this bout, installing odds relating to rounds, plus how the fight might end.
The over/under round total of 11.5 is one of the option set down, essentially asking bettors if this fight will go the distance or end early. The odds highly favor it to go the distance with the over paying out nearly 1 to 3 at -280 on the moneyline. A wager on the under total has been set at +190, which is right close to 2 to 1.
Over Rounds 11½
There are a number of other different over/under round options, which the payouts obviously differ with the different numbers. All of these can be viewed below in this article.
Another prop line relates to how the fight will end. There are five different options. There is the option of Mayweather winning by a KO, TKO, or DQ, or a Decision, with the same options presented to Guerrero. Then of course there is the option of a draw.
And bettors can get in on even more action relating to how the fight will end, by predicting which round the fight will end. There are a variety of different payouts and ranges installed here, for which LatestBettingOdds.com has them listed out below.
