Early 2011-12 NBA Rookie Of The Year Betting Odds

The 2011 NBA Rookie Draft took place last month, with players looking to get with their teams and try to contribute as early and as often as possible.

The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Kyrie Irving with the No.1 overall selection, as they hope the point guard can come in and fit in their system under the direction of head coach Byron Scott.

Oddsmakers are getting early action on many of the top rookies taken in the NBA Draft like Irving, and forming NBA Rookie of the Year Betting Lines for the upcoming season.

While Irving might have been taken as the No.1 overall selection, the new Cavalier does not lead the NBA Rookie of the Year betting lines at Bodog Sportsbook. That title goes to the No.2 overall selection in Derrick Williams, who was taken by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Williams has been set with odds at 9/2 to win the NBA Rookie of the Year in the 2011-12 NBA regular season, just ahead of Sacramento Kings’ rookie Jimmer Fredette, who comes in at 5/1 on Bodog.

Fredette was the No.12 overall pick, but oddsmakers obviously have predicted him to be a top-contributor to the Kings coming into this season. The former BYU guard led the country in scoring during the season in College Basketball last year.

While there are several notable players among the top options for NBA Rookie or the year, there is also a Field option offered at 15/2. The Field option is considered as any other player not mentioned or installed with individual betting lines on the online sportsbook.
