Game 7 between the Los Angeles Kings and the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday night was the epitome of why the Stanley Cup Playoffs are the best postseason of any sport by the opinion of many. The Kings won their third-straight Game 7 of these playoffs (on the road for all) to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals where they will meet the New York Rangers.

New York dispatched of Montreal in six games in the Eastern Conference Finals, and awaited the winner of the West matchup. It could not have been a more exciting back and forth game between Chicago and Los Angeles, with the 5-4 victory by the Kings coming in sudden death overtime.
With the excitement of the Conference Finals in the past, the Stanley Cup Finals are shaping up to be something to remember. The two cities couldn’t be much further apart in the U.S. It’s the ultimate East vs. West showdown with New York and Los Angeles.
The Kings have the home ice advantage and will host the first two games before making the cross-country trip.
Bovada Sportsbook has released a couple of 2014 Stanley Cup Finals betting lines, led by the series price. This is the wager made on the team to win the Stanley Cup. Futures lines are finished, until next season. Bovada has set the Kings as the favorites to win the Stanley Cup, paying out at -170 ($1.70 wins $1) to win the championship. A bet on the Rangers is on the other side of the wager line, installed at +150 ($1 wins $1.50). The payouts are relatively close, but there is definitely a disparity between the two.
The Game 1 betting odds for Thursday’s matchup have also been released. With Los Angeles getting home ice, and being favored in the series, they are the favorites to jump out to the early 1-0 series lead. The Kings are -155 favorites on the moneyline, with the Rangers set at +135.
In addition to the moneyline (straight up wager to win) there are two payouts on the goal line as well. That line is set at 1.5 goals. For Los Angeles to cover, they will need to win by two goals, with that payout set at +185. For New York to cover with a loss by one goal or less, a -225 profit margin would await.
Game Props + Player props for every game will be formed as well. These odds cover a variety of different outcomes, newly formed for every game in the series.
The Rangers can steal home ice with a win in Game 1 or Game 2, so the pressure might very well lay on the side of the favorites for the opener. No team wants to lose Game 1 at home, knowing that Game 2 could win or lose the series.
