Beyonce, Jay-Z and Madonna are the latest artists lined up to perform at the 2014 Grammy Awards on January 26 in Los Angeles. The trio joins the roster of Taylor Swift, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kendrick Lamar, Katy Perry, Sara Bareilles, Carole King, Stevie Wonder, Daft Punk and Pharrell, who will hit the stage to celebrate one of biggest nights in music.
While Madonna is rumored to be performing with one of the nominees, Beyonce will reportedly introduce one of her new songs off of her recently released album. As for her husband Jay-Z, the rapper is said to be gearing up to give his own performance. Most likely from his Magna Carter album unless the two hit the stage for a duet. Together the couple is up for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for Part II (On The Run) with Jay-Z up for awards in 9 categories.
Other Grammy frontrunners include the young country/pop star Taylor Swift alongside new artists Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Both are up for Album of the Year. Singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles, Daft Punk and Kendrick Lamar are also in the running. Landing multiple nominations, Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams are up for a Record of the Year against nominees Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Bruno Mars and Robin Thicke.
Online betting sites have formed odds for four of the top categories of the night. They include the Album of the Year, the Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist.
Bovada Sportsbook has installed individual payouts for each of the nominees on 2014 Grammy betting lines. Leading the way for the Album of the year is ‘The Heist’ by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. A wager on this album is paying out -150 ($1.50 wins $1) on the betting line. The album is an assertive favorite over the other four nominees. ‘Random Access Memories’ by Daft Punk, and ‘Red’ by Taylor Swift sit tied with a payout at +400 (4 to 1).
For Record of the Year + Song of the Year, the payouts are closer. ‘Get Lucky’ by Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams is the leading contender at +125, but ‘Royals’ by Lucky is right behind at +160.
‘Royals’ is however the favorite for Song of the year at -110 over ‘Same Love’ (+275) by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Complete Grammy odds can be found below.
What isn’t a surprise is Macklemore & Ryan Lewis being runaway favorites (-350) as the favorites to win Best New Artist.
Other nominations in top categories went to James Blake, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kacey Musgraves and Ed Sharon for Best New Artist. Pop singer Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake are up for Best Pop Vocal Album with Timberlake, Mars and Lorde occupying the Best Pop Solo Performance category with Katy Perry and Sara Bareilles.
