Jimmie Johnson And Kyle Busch Sit Atop Bojangles Southern 500 Betting Odds

Filed under: NASCAR Betting Odds |

Bojangles Southern 500Darlington Raceway will be the site of this week’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race as drivers get ready for the Bojangles Southern 500 on Saturday. Jimmie Johnson comes in as the defending champion, having won this race two times in his career. But when it comes to the betting odds, there are a ton of drivers which oddsmakers see in the mix.

Last week at Talladega, the combination of weather and crashes throughout the day almost meant that the race might have to be postponed indefinitely. But NASCAR was able to squeeze it in, and it came down to quite an exciting ending.

In a battle with some of the top drivers in the sport, such as Johnson, Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth, it was David Ragan who came through and took the checkered flag for his first win of the season, and just the second in his career for the 27 year old.

Bojangles Southern 500 Favorites

Jimmie Johnson – 13/2 (+650)

Kyle Busch – 13/2 (+650)

Denny Hamlin – 7/1 (+700)

Matt Kenseth – 17/2 (+850)

Carl Edwards – 10/1 (+1000)

Oddsmakers are exactly expecting Ragan to win back-to-back races here. In fact, last week’s winner is set at a distant 100 to 1 to get the win at the 2013 Bojangles Southern 500 on betting lines formed at Bovada Sportsbook.

It’s the defending champion who is at the top of Bojangles Southern 500 betting odds, alongside Kyle Busch, who are the favorites. Both Johnson and Busch are set at 13 to 2 this week at Bovada. Busch has won this race as well, coming back in 2008.

The odds don’t stretch out much behind the top-two favorites. In fact, Denny Hamlin nearly made it a three-way tie at the top of the odds, but falls just behind at 7 to 1. Like the two drivers in front, Hamlin has winning experience at the Bojangles Southern 500 as well, winning the race in 2010.

As we continue down the list of top-five favorites to win this week we get to Matt Kenseth and Carl Edwards. Kenseth comes in at 17 to 2, while Edwards is back a little at 10 to 1.

There are quite a few golfers between 10 to 1 and 14 to 1, including Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kevin Harvick.

The 2013 Bojangles Southern 500 will be held in primetime this Saturday night beginning at 6:45pm ET on FOX.
