The five big names at the 2012 Players Championship, or really any golf tournament in the world for that matter, are universally consistent at this point in time.
Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Lee Westwood, Luke Donald, and Phil Mickelson typically lead the way on the betting odds in any tournament they enter, with the 2012 Players Championship this week no exception.
So there might as well be a betting line surrounding these five guys right?
That is exactly what oddsmakers at Bovada Sportsbook have formulated for you this week. These five players have been combined on a 2012 Player Championship Prop Betting line, which asks which will have the best finish this week.
Leading the way is McIlroy, which is not surprising given the fact that he is the overall favorite to win the Players Championship this week. McIlroy is going off at +250 on the amount wagered to have the highest place finish.
Then comes Mickelson, who won this tournament back in 2007, but hasn’t shown very much consistency at TPC Sawgrass. Mickelson is still a threat to win anytime he tees it up though.
Rarely do we see a betting line where Woods brings up the rear, but that is exactly what the case is this week. Oddsmakers love affair with Woods is understandably fading slightly, given the fact that Woods just missed the cut this past week at the Wells Fargo Championship. Woods also has a poor record here at the Players Championship, with the exception of his early years that included a win in 2001. He is set with odds at +450 to have the best finish of this group.
