Stanley CupThe L.A. Kings have won two of the last three Stanley Cups, meaning that a wager on them from a futures standpoint to capture the title since 2012 has been quite profitable. The Kings opened up the 2014-15 NHL season earlier this week along with the rest of the league, all with the goal in mind to hoist the trophy. If Los Angeles wins again, that would make it three out of four, and the term ‘dynasty’ could begin to be throw around.

That, of course, is still months away.

As the teams got back on the ice for hockey that now counts following the preseason action, the anticipation and excitement is high for all teams. Each believes that they have the makeup to win the Stanley Cup this season, but in the end it will just be one.

The question now is, which team will it be?

Down in Florida, the Lightning are doing some good things, and have put together a squad that is gaining experience and could be a darkhorse to winning their first Stanley Cup title since 2004.

In the Western Conference, teams like the st. Louis Blues, and Anaheim Ducks are perceived to be the biggest contenders.

Among those teams with the longest shots include the Florida Panthers (150/1), and Calgary Flames (150/1).
