His name asserts the fact that he is the fastest man on the planet.

And after putting on a record breaking performance in 2008 at the Beijing Games, Usain Bolt of Jamaica looks to come back to the Olympics and do exactly what he did four years ago.

Oddsmakers believe that he will do just that, installing Bolt as the favorite in the 100m and 200m races in which he will compete on London Olympic Betting Odds available at Bovada Sportsbook.

There is no doubt that Bolt is the biggest name in track, and one of the biggest names coming into the 2012 London Olympics overall. So you can bet that there is definitely some interest in just how this track star will perform, and if he can achieve that success that he had back in Beijing.

When it comes to the 100m event, Bolt is better than an even money favorite to win the gold medal. Bolt is going off at 7/10 on the betting line. That means that for every $10 wagered on bolt to win the gold, a $7 profit is returned. The next closest on the betting line is teammate Yohan Blake, who is back at 3/2. American Tyson Gay rounds out the medal favorites.

Then in the 200m event Bolt is an even bigger favorite to run his way to another gold medal. Going off at 4/7 on the amount wagered, for every $7 bet on Bolt to win, a $4 profit will be returned. Blake is once again the second overall favorite in the event, going off at 13/8 on the betting line.

Both of the world record’s by Bolt were set in Germany at the World Championships in 2009. He owns the world record in the 100m at 9.58 seconds. In the 200m, the world record he set stands at 19.19 seconds.

Bolt has three gold medals in this Olympic career, as Jamaica also won the 4x100m relay. It’s the United States who is favored to win that event at the London Olympics however.
