UFC 148 Betting Odds: Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen

Filed under: UFC Betting Odds |

The last time that Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen met in the UFC octagon, it was voted as the fight of the year. In a bout that Sonnen appeared to have locked up late, that was quickly turned around when Silva was able to get Sonnen to submit through the use of a triangle armbar with under two minutes remaining in the fight.

And ever since that moment, we have been waiting for this rematch.

Silva, the UFC middleweight champion, still remains the pound-for-pound No.1 ranked fighter in the world according to Sherdog. He is one of the biggest draws in the sport, and will be putting his championship on the line once again against Sonnen in UFC 148 on Saturday night from the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.

Oddsmakers are obviously jumping all over this rematch.

Silva vs Sonnen UFC 148 Betting Odds available at Bovada Sportsbook have pegged Silva as the heavy favorite to defend his title. Going off at -300 on the amount wagered, a bet on Silva will pay out $1 for every $3 put on him to win.

On the other side of the betting line, Sonnen has been set at +230 in the role of the underdog, which is just over a 2/1 payout.

In the first fight, Sonnen was surprisingly in control of the bout the entire time, out punching, out strategizing, and frankly out fighting Silva on the whole. It was quite the shock, until Silva was able to submit Sonnen. It was really the only way Silva was going to be able to get the victory. Had the fight gone to a decision, Sonnen would have likely become the new UFC middleweight champion.

So what will be in store for the second fight?

Only time will tell, with Pay-Per-View picking up the coverage of the main fight card on Saturday night, capped off by this main event.

Below, we have the betting odds for this fight, as well as the other bouts on the fight card for UFC 148 as seen on Bovada, so be sure to check them out.
