With the day of the fight drawing near, the preliminary odds on the bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and “Vicious” Victor Ortiz have been updated to reflect how close the fight has come. Bodog’s boxing betting odds on this bout will be open until the final minutes before the fight.
The moneyline between the two fighters was initially set at -1200 for Mayweather, making him an enormous favorite. In order to earn a profit of $100 on this bet, players would have had to wager $1,200 to get their money. Ortiz had +600 in his corner, giving a profit of $600 for every $100 risked. Mayweather is no longer the dominant favorite that he was, though he is still heavily favored to win the fight.
Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. is now set at -650 to win the event. While this still requires a fairly high wager in order to make a profit, players need only wager $650 to earn a profit of $100 rather than $1,200.
“Vicious” Victor Ortiz has improved from +600 to +450, making his payout slightly lower but his odds to win slightly better. Bettors need only risk $100 to win a profit of $450, making Ortiz a fairly high payout for those who would bet on “Vicious” to win the fight.
A prop bet has also been issued over the fight. The number of rounds this fight will last are out, giving players a shot to bet on how many rounds will take place. The total has been set at 11.5 rounds. The Over, which is paying -140, will be a success if the fight makes it past 1 minute and 30 seconds into the 12th round. Should it go under, even money will be paid.
