NFL Week 7 Monday Night Football: Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions Betting Odds

Filed under: NFL Betting Odds |

The Detroit Lions were riding a three game losing streak heading into Philadelphia last Sunday.  They entered the Eagles game coming off a bye week that was much needed to help regroup the struggling Lions.

They must have found some answers to some issues as they pulled off a 26-23 win on overtime to mark their second win of the season.

Looking to continue that success might be a little difficult as they will go on the road on Monday Night Football to face their NFC North rivals the Chicago Bears.

The Bears (4-1) are riding a three-game winning streak in which they have had really no trouble getting the victories.  Two of them were on the road at Dallas and Jacksonville where they averaged 37.5 points per game and yielded just 10.5 points to their opponents.

Defensively, the Bears have been stout where they rank first in the NFL in rushing yards allowed (65.8) and 14th in passing yards.

Through the air is where Detroit and quarterback Matthew Stafford might be able to do some damage.  The Lions are second in the league in passing getting 319.8 yards per game.

As far as the Lions’ defense is concerned, they must find a way to contain Bears’ running back Matte Forte who has just abused the Lions in recent matchups.  In their last five meetings, Forte has put up 975 yards of offense and found the end zone seven times.

The Bears have won seven of their last eight meetings with the Lions, including four straight wins at home against Detroit.  Oddsmakers feel this success will continue as they have the Bears favored by 6 1/2 points in Bovada Sportsbook’s Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions Betting Odds.  The OVER/UNDER in points is set at 47 1/2.
