National Championship And Final Four Betting Odds: Louisville Cardinals

Filed under: NCAA Basketball Betting Odds |

If one believes in history repeating itself, or commonalities and similarities from one team to another, than it really should not come as a surprise that the Louisville Cardinals fought their way through the West Bracket.

The No.4 seed in the West Region knocked off No.1 Michigan State in the Sweet 16, and No.7 Florida in the Elite 8 in their last two games to reach New Orleans.

So what do we mean by history repeating itself?

Well, simply look back to last season and the national champions in the UConn Huskies.

The Huskies and the Cardinals shared similar type seasons, needing to play well late in the year and on into the Big East Tournament to really put themselves into contention for an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Not only did they do that, but just like the Huskies did last season, the Cardinals went on a run through the Big East Tournament, pulling off the upset and winning it all.

Louisville was then rewarded with a No.4 seed, just like UConn, and came in playing their best basketball of the season.

That enough for you?

Sure, the Cardinals are still a surprise. Everyone in the West Region got a break with the shocking loss of Missouri in the second round. But under head coach Rick Pitino, he has the Cardinals primed to take on Kentucky.

But what are the chances that Louisville wins the national championship?

We have the odds here for you!

The Latest NCAA Tournament Betting Odds available at Bovada Sportsbook have set the Cardinals with odds at +800 to win the national title, the highest of any team remaining. That is likely because they are the lowest seed remaining, and they have to go up against tournament-favorite Kentucky in the national semifinal this week in New Orleans.

But just as the old phrase goes…..so you’re saying there’s a chance!

Early Final Four Odds have the Cardinals as 8.5-point underdogs in the match up with the Wildcats.
