NASCAR’s AdvoCare 500 At Atlanta Motor Speedway Preview and Betting Odds

Just two races remain before the 2012 Chase for the Sprint Cup begins on September 16.  Many of the Sprint Cup drivers have already secured their spots in NASCAR’s playoffs, but for a few these next two races could be huge.

The first of these races is set for Sunday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the AdvoCare 500.

One of the drivers who needs a good race Sunday is defending champion Tony Stewart who currently is 10th in the points standings.  He has put himself in good position for a strong race by winning the pole which is his first of the season.

Stewart has pretty much assured himself a spot in the Chase but if he drops below his current position in the standings it could get a little dicey.

Greg Biffle qualified second and will start on the front row along with Stewart.  Kyle Busch finished third and will be joined by Matt Kenseth in the second row.

Bovada Sportsbook has fielded their Odds To Win The AdvoCare 500 and have tagged Jimmie Johnson as the betting favorite with odds set at 11/2.  Not hard to believe since he is a four-time winner this year and for every $1.00 wagered on Johnson to win Sunday, the payout is $5.50.

Stewart enters Sunday’s race with odds set at 13/2 and he will be followed by current points leader Greg Biffle, Kyle Busch and Kenseth who all round out the top five betting favorites with all three having their odds set at 8/1.

The Advocare 500 is set for Sunday at 7:30 pm ET and can be seen live on ESPN.
