NASCAR Sprint Cup Sylvania 300 Preview and Betting Odds

The 2012 Chase for the Sprint Cup is underway and Brad Keselowski has the upper hand right now as he occupies the top spot in the standings.  However, there is still plenty of time for the other 11 drivers competing for the Cup with nine races remaining.

Race number two takes place on Sunday as New Hampshire Motor Speedway plays host to the Sylvania 300.

There is one Chase participant who will be looking for redemption on Sunday after a horrible finish last Sunday at Chicago.  With just 80 laps to go, Jeff Gordon managed to crash which resulted in him finishing 35th.  Gordon posted the worst finish of all the drivers and now finds himself at the bottom of the standings heading into Sunday.

However, he did himself some good in qualifying on Friday and won the pole for the second of ten races in NASCAR’s postseason.  Gordon turned a lap of 134.911 to win the top spot which marks his 72nd career pole.

Kyle Busch, who is not in the Chase, qualified second while Tony Stewart (3rd in the standings) and Brian Vickers will join Gordon on the front row. Keselowski qualified 13th and Jimmie Johnson who sits in second in the standings qualified 20th.

Bovada Sportsbook has fielded their Sylvania 300 Betting Odds and they have tagged Hamlin as the betting favorite with odds set at 3/1, while Johnson will follow right behind him with 6/1 odds.

Three will go into Sunday’s race with 7/1 odds and they include Gordon, Kyle Busch and Stewart.

Also, Bovada had fielded some great Sylvania 300 Prop Bets to wager on as well.
