The queens of the beach at the 2012 Olympics in London take the court on Tuesday in their semifinal. Americans Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh-Jennings look to make it back to the final for a chance at a third-straight Olympic gold medal. In their way is the team of Xue and Chang from China.

And while the United States dominated the 2008 Beijing games on both the men’s and women’s side of the equation, it’s just the women who have a chance to win the gold medal after both of the men’s teams were upset.

There are still two American teams left in the women’s beach volleyball competition, with April Ross and Jen Kessy taking on the No.1 ranked Brazilian team in their semifinal.

But there is no doubt that the most popular team in beach volleyball at the Olympics is May-Treanor and Walsh-Jennings.

Oddsmakers are jumping all over their semifinal showdown with China as well. Beach Volleyball Olympic Odds available at Bovada Sportsbook have set the United States as -175 favorites over China to win the semifinal and advance to the final.

It would be a third-straight final for the Olympics for this dynamic duo. May-Treanor and Walsh-Jennings lost their first set ever in the Olympics in London, so it has definitely been a bit more difficult. But in match play they remain unbeaten and two-time gold medalists.

It’s the team from Brazil who remain the gold medal favorites, but you can bet that it would be a heck of a gold medal match if these two teams were to square off.

But as fans of the United States, an All-American final would be prefered!

May-Treanor and Walsh-Jennings play at 1 pm ET, which can be seen live on NBCOlympics.com.

In the other semifinal, Kessy and Ross are the heavy underdogs against the Brazilian team of Franca and Silva.
