Kelly Clarkson National Anthem Betting Odds For Super Bowl XLVI

Filed under: NFL Betting Odds |

Original American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson will perform the National Anthem to begin Super Bowl XLVI from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, when the New England Patriots take on the New York Giants.

Clarkson has been a huge success since catapulting from the first season of American Idol as the winner. She has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, with two reaching No.1 on the charts on the Billboard Hot 100, and several more in the top-10.

Her latest Album entitled ‘Stronger’ was released in 2011, for which Clarkson is currently on a Tour.

Clarkson’s National Anthem at Super Bowl XLVI might have more anticipation surrounding it, since last year’s debacle at Super Bowl XLV when Christina Aguilera flubbed one of the lines.

While the lyrics were supposed to go “O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming,”, the singer mistakenly repeated a previous line of the Anthem.

It paved the way for a bit of a controversy as far as betting odds were concerned as well. Each year, Super Bowl Betting Odds form lines on the National Anthem, such as over/under times on how long it will take to complete, the attire that the singer will wear and more.

Due to Aguliera’s flubbed line, online sportsbooks found themselves in a pickle. Bovada Sportsbook ended up paying out both sides of the line.

Once again, for Super Bowl XLVI, Bovada has formed a variety of Super Bowl XLVI Prop Odds for the National Anthem to be sung by Clarkson.

Clarkson is not the only American Idol winner to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Carrie Underwood also has performed. They join a long line of performers like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Dianna Ross, among others.

Super Bowl XLVI coverage begins on NBC at 6:30pm ET on Sunday, Feb. 5
