The third week of the NFL preseason is often when the starters for teams get the most playing time. We will see the first teams play the entire first half and on into the second half. That’s because most of them rest in the final Week of the preseason in preparation for the opening Week of the regular season the following week.
So we should see a lot of Aaron Rodgers this week on Thursday night, when the Green Bay Packers take on the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Packers are coming off of a 35-10 defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Browns. So obviously we can tell it’s still the preseason when Cleveland is beating Green Bay by three scores.
No offense Cleveland. Ok, a little offense.
As for Cincinnati, the Bengals went on the road and got a 24-19 victory last Thursday night in the Georgia Dome over the Atlanta Falcons.
So what can we expect for this match up in the second-to-last exhibition game of the season for both teams?
Oddsmakers have set down a betting line, with the Packers set as field-goal favorites on the road over the Bengals on NFL Week 3 Preseason Betting Odds available at Bovada Sportsbook. To cover Green Bay will need to win by at least four points. Cincinnati can cover this line with a loss by two points or less. Exactly a three-point Green Bay win will result in a push.
The Packers remain winless in the 2012 Preseason, that hasn’t deterred oddsmakers from still pegging them as the overall favorites to win the 2012-13 Super Bowl. Green Bay won 15 games during the regular season in 2011, and will try to pick up where they left off with that success.
Cincinnati continues to break in second-year quarterback Andy Dalton, who had a great rookie season in leading the Bengals to the playoffs. He continues to develop chemistry with fellow second-year player in wide receiver A.J Green. Green might just be one of the best receivers in the entire league.
Green Bay and Cincinnati kick off at 7pm ET. Check out the rest of the NFL Preseason Week 3 Betting Odds Below.
