Clemson vs Auburn Betting Odds And Preview

The Auburn Tigers and Clemson Tigers match up in the Georgia Dome on Saturday night is being largely overshadowed by the game in Dallas between Alabama and Michigan. But this game has the potential to be every bit as good, putting the SEC and ACC on the field in a battle for conference bragging rights.

Clemson comes into 2012 garnering plenty of attention, winning the ACC in 2011 and returning a plethora of talent. The Tigers are expected to have a good season and contend for another ACC title.

But unfortunately for the Tigers, they will be without All-American receiver Sammy Watkins for this one, as he is suspended for the opener. There is no doubt that the loss of Watkins will be big for Clemson.

But when looking at the betting line for this one, oddsmakers are still siding with the Tigers from South Carolina in this one.

Clemson vs Auburn betting odds available at Bovada Sportsbook have set the Orange Tigers as 3.5-point favorites over the Tigers from Auburn. To cover, Clemson will need to win by at least four ponts. A loss by a field-goal or less for Auburn, and they cover the spread.

So how do things shaped up for Auburn?

Coming off of a national championship two seasons ago, the Tigers still look to be in rebuild mode. Auburn is picked fourth in the brutal SEC West, behind the triple-headed monster LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas.

And while the Tigers could be much improved from last season, but it might not show in the record books because of the schedule. In addition to Clemson, Auburn has LSU, Arkansas, Alabama, and Georgia on the slate this season. That is four of the top-eight teams in the preseason rankings.

But it’s one game at a time. Oddsmakers believe that this will be a close on in the Georgia Dome.

This one kicks off at 7pm ET on ESPN. Check out the betting odds for this game and the rest of the schedule below as seen on Bovada.
