Atlanta Falcons vs Miami Dolphins Week 3 NFL Preseason Betting Odds

Filed under: NFL Betting Odds |

The Atlanta Falcons and the Miami Dolphins matchup in Week 3 of the 2012 NFL Preseason. For Miami, they announced that rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be the starter in Week 1 of the regular season earlier this week. Now, with just two exhibition games remaining, you can bet we will see a lot of Tannehill over the next eight quarters.

There is no question that Tannehill has all of the physical tools to make any throw asked of him. And now that he is the starter, he will get the reps in before the opening week.

On the other side of the field for the Falcons, it’s been a run-of-the-mill type of preseason. Atlanta didn’t have to deal with an high profile draft picks this season, after giving up their first two picks to acquire Julio Jones in the 2011 draft. And that trade up looks like it is paying off. Many expect Jones to have a monster year for the Falcons opposite Roddy White.

Matt Ryan had his best season statistically in 2011, and will try to follow that up with an even better one. Having White and Jones to throw to again should help that out.

On paper, Atlanta looks like a team that could win the NFC and reach the Super Bowl. but their success in the playoffs over the last two seasons has been lacking. In fact, there hasn’t been any at all.

Atlanta has gone 0-2 over the course of the last two playoffs, a record that head coach Mike Smith surely pays plenty of attention to.

As for this third preseason matchup with Miami, the Falcons have been given the edge on the betting line over the Dolphins. NFL Week 3 preseason odds available at Bovada Sportsbook have set Atlanta as field goal favorites over Miami.

Neither the Falcons nor the Dolphins have won a game yet this preseason, so there will be a first in this one.

Atlanta and Miami kickoff on Friday at 7:30 pm ET. Check this game line, and the rest of the betting odds for the Week 3 preseason match ups.
