The 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards will be held from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California on August 25th. As the most prestigious awards for television, the Emmys garner plenty of attention from around the world.
This season, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will award the most outstanding achievement in dozens of categories spanning the time frame from June of 2013 through May of 2014.
There were a ton of great television shows that met audiences every week throughout the seasons, but there can only be one winner in each category.
While many will have their own guesses as to who will come out on top, Bovada Sportsbook has formulated 2014 Emmys betting odds on many of the top categories on the night. In fact, Bovada has formed wager lines for more than a dozen total categories, including Best Drama, Outstanding Actor and Actress awards, miniseries, television movie + more.
Let’s take a look at a few of the biggest awards of the night, those that are nominated, and the payouts for some of the favorites.
‘Breaking Bad’ looks like it will be in line for the big award of the night of Best Drama. This series is complete, but is no stranger to winning at the Emmys. ‘Breaking Bad’ is going off as the huge favorite (1/4) to win the Best Drama award. The show leads others such as ‘True Detective’, and ‘Game of Thrones’.
As for the opposite side of the spectrum, the Outstanding Comedy Series award looks like it will be a toss up. ‘Orange Is The New Black’, and ‘Veep’ are both installed at 2/1. ‘Modern Family’ isn’t far behind at 4/1, and ‘Louie’ comes in at 5/1. ‘The Big Bang Theory’ is next on the list at 6/1, before the odds jump up to 30/1 for ‘Silicon Valley’.
The Actor and Actress categories are largely dominated by the big names. Matthew McConaughey for example, fresh off his Oscar win, is the leading favorite to win Outstanding Actor in a Drama for ‘True Detective’, going off at 4/9. It would cap off the biggest year in the actors career for sure.
Jim Parsons leads the way at even money to win the Outstanding Actor for a Comedy Series for ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Parsons has won the award twice in his career with the show, and continues to entertain audiences as Sheldon Cooper.
Betting lines for the 2014 Emmys will be available at Bovada up through the night of August 25th when the show is scheduled to air live.
Seth Meyers, the new host of ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’, will host the Emmys. It’s the first time Meyers will host the award show.
