Coming out of the NL East division, the Washington Nationals have jumped in fron of the Blue Jays, and been tabbed as the World Series favorites on odds available at Bovada Sportsbook. Washington is set at 7/1 to win it all.

This move in the betting line can be for a couple of reasons, but it is most likely due to the money that has been placed on the top teams. This can cause small shifts in the odds, because the Nationals were right behind Toronto for the last several months.

Washington isn’t very far in front of Toronto though, as the Blue Jays are set with odds at 8/1. They are not alone in this payout though, with the Detroit Tigers also set at 8/1. The Tigers are the defending AL champions, but would like to forget about that sweep in the World Series to the San Francisco Giants.

It’s a couple of other California teams that are near the top of the odds though, and not the Giants, when it comes to the 2013 World Series. The Angels and Dodgers of Los Angeles are both going off at 9/1 on the betting line, rounding out the top-five favorites.

As we continue from there, the Cincinnati Reds come next at 12/1, before we then get to the defending World Series champions at 12/1 as well.

The Atlanta Braves appear to be the Nationals’ biggest competition in the NL East according to the odds, and are set at 16/1 to win the World Series.
