There is plenty of parity at the top as well, evenly splitting between the AL and NL over the course of the top-four favorites. It’s the Detroit Tigers out of the AL Central who are on top of the latest 2013 World Series betting lines formed at Bovada, going off at 13/2. Detroit might be the favorites, but they will need to try and fend off the Oakland Athletics in the division first. The Tigers are just 1.5 games up on the A’s, and it could be a dogfight the rest of the way in. Detroit actually has the worst record among division leaders in the AL, but yet they remain the favorites to win it all.

Below the Tigers come the St. Louis Cardinals, a team with the best record in the NL, and second best record overall in MLB. The Cardinals are only one game up on Pittsburgh in the NL Central despite the great record. St. Louis has been an excellent road team this season going 30-20 so far on the year. The Cardinals come in at 7/1.

The Atlanta Braves come next as the team with the biggest lead of any division leader coming out of the break, at six games over Washington. The Braves are under .500 on the road, but are great at home, going 31-15 this year to date. They’ve got the second-highest run differential in the NL at +78, behind only St. Louis. Atlanta is set at 8/1.

The team with the best record in MLB coming out of the break are the Boston Red Sox, sitting at 58-39 and 2.5 games up on Tampa Bay. The Red Sox are overachieving by many’s standards, and how they hang around down the stretch will be interesting. They have faith backed by oddsmakers, as 9/1.

The Los Angeles Dodgers round out the top-five favorites, and it can be attributed to one player probably. Yasiel Puig. The Dodgers rookie has taken MLB by storm, and will be key in determining how far L.A. goes in the division and postseason. The Dodgers are tied with the Red Sox at 9/1.
