The majority of you filling out your NCAA Tournament bracket this year when you get to the East Regional will probably be selecting the Indiana Hoosiers to win it and reach the 2013 Final Four in Atlanta.
And there are certainly plenty of reasons why you should be doing so. The Hoosiers are arguably the best team in the country, and one of the most complete.
But it’s not an easy East Regional that Indiana finds themselves in.
There is a Miami team out of the ACC that won both the regular season conference crown, and the tournament. They are the only ACC team to ever do that and not get a No.1 seed. The fact of the matter is the no team in the country is playing better right now.
But when you look at it, the Hoosiers are set as 5/4 favorites on the odds to win the East Regional that can be found at Bovada Sportsbook. As you can see, the profit margin isn’t very high.
So where can you get some good value, yet still have a legitimate shot to be right in your pick?
We are looking hard at two teams. The first we mentioned, which is Miami at No.2. The Hurricanes are getting 7/2 odds at Bovada, which is a 3.5 to 1 payout. For every $1 you wager, you profit $3.50 should the Hurricanes win. For example, bet $10, win $35. That’s pretty good for a No.2 seed.
The second team are the Syracuse Orange out of the Big East at No.4. The Orange have some big guys inside who can really dominate a game, and would match up well with Miami or Indiana. The Orange are paying out 5/1 on the betting odds, and we think could be a nice profit margin and worth the risk to take here.
