The Milwaukee Bucks certainly played better in Game 2 against the Miami Heat than they did in Game 1. But at the end of the day, there is no such thing as a moral victory when in the playoffs. And despite playing better, they still lost by 12 points and now find themselves down 2-0 in this opening round playoff series.
If Milwaukee hopes to make this a series, they must win Game 3 at home on Thursday night. Failure to do so would result in a 3-0 deficit, and all but assuring that Miami cruises into the second round of the postseason.
The Bucks are the underdogs in their own building, and by quite a bit. 2013 NBA Playoff betting odds available at Bovada Sportsbook have installed the Heat as eight-point favorites to pull within one win from advancing to the next round. It seems like a mere formality at this point, but you never can be 100 percent sure.
Game/Series: Gm. 3 / MIA 2-0

From a betting perspective here, Milwaukee is getting seven points to play with a home. Those looking to place a bet on the home team will need the Bucks to lose by seven or less. Milwauke did cover the 14.5-point line that was set for Game 2, losing by 12. Both the Heat and Bucks are 1-1 against the spread thus far in the series.
If you are looking to wager on Miami to cover, a near double-digit victory would be required, with nine points or more going the way of the road favorite.
The over/under point total has been set at 194 points.
For three quarters in Game 2, it did look possible like the Bucks could pull off quite the improbable upset, as the game was very tight. And anyone who bet on Milwaukee in that one to cover the line was feeling confident. But the Heat pulled away in the fourth, and certainly made for a nervous ending for Milwaukee bettors. But like we said, the Bucks did cover.
Despite the loss on the spread, the Heat are still 8-2 ATS over the course of their last 10 games overall. And the Bucks haven’t been great at covering at home, doing it just six times in their last 20 games.
The betting line for the game is obviously much closer due to the home court factor, but Miami has also covered 19 times in their last 26 road games overall.
This one will come down to who plays a better fourth quarter, and in both of the first two games that has gone the way of Miami. Home court should help Milwaukee here, but getting a straight up win to put the series at 2-1 is asking a lot.
This game tips at 7:05pm ET, with TNT picking up the coverage.
