The United States Ryder Cup standings were finalized on Sunday following the completion of the 2012 PGA Championship.

There are eight automatic qualifiers, while four other players are chosen on a captain’s selection. Those selections will not be made likely until after the Tour Championship at the end of the FedEx Cup championship.

It’s Tiger Woods who leads the way for the Americans. That’s definitely a step up from when he had to be a captain’s selection two years ago. Woods has won three times in 2012, but failed to collect a Major championship. Still, Woods appears to be playing as good as he has in several years.

Masters champion Bubba Watson is second on the Ryder Cup list, followed by two-time winner on the 2012 season Jason Dufner.

Keegan Bradley comes in the fourth spot, while 2012 U.S Open champion Webb Simpson is fifth. Zach Johnson is sixth, while 2012 Players champion Matt Kuchar is No.7. The last spot on the team automatically in goes to Phil Mickelson.

U.S captain Davis Love III now will have to think long and hard about who he will choose as his selections.

The 2012 Ryder Cup will be played at Medinah Country Club in Illinois. Two years ago it was Europe that bested the United States across the Atlantic. So you can bet the U.S Team remembers that.

Being played in the United States has give the team the edge. 2012 Ryder Cup Betting Odds available at Bovada Sportsbook have set the U.S squad as -140 favorites of Europe. But Europe isn’t far behind, going off at +115 on the payout.

Opening competition begins on October 4th with the team formats the first two days. Then on Sunday, all 24 players will be on the course in the individual singles matches. Below you can see the betting odds for the Ryder cup as seen on Bovada.
