The U.S. women’s basketball team has been very dominant throughout not only the 2012 Olympics, but in recent one’s as well. As a matter of fact, they had won 36 straight Olympic games heading into Friday’s showdown with the Czechs.
Finding something that they could improve on might seem like a difficult thing to accomplish. But head coach Geno Auriemma managed to do just that…improve on rebounding.
On Friday, the women hauled in a record 62 rebounds against the Czech Republic and overcame 10-0 early deficit to get the 88-61 win. They will take Saturday off before they wrap up pool play and will face China.
The Chinese women have gone 3-1 in the prelims. They will face the U.S. after suffering a 82-55 loss to Turkey.
The U.S. women have been a force on this stage. They have cruised through pool play and have outscored their opponents by 36-points per game. Although China might offer them their toughest test in this year’s Olympics thus far, it seems pretty evident that the American women are well on their way to another gold medal.
Bovada Sportsbook isn’t giving the Chinese much love in their 2012 Olympics Women’s Basketball Betting Odds for obvious reasons. The U.S. have been tagged as 35-point favorites over the Chinese. The OVER/UNDER in total points has been set at 150 1/2.
The U.S. Women vs Chinese basketball game will begin Sunday at 11:45 am.
