The PGA Tour moves to TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois for the playing of the 2012 John Deere Classic.
And over the course of the last three years, there has been only one player to talk about when it comes to this tournament.
That would be three-time defending champion Steve Stricker. If ever there were a tournament that suits one player, this golf course seems to be it for Stricker. TPC Deere Run stretches to just about 7,300 as a Par 72, with 78 bunkers and just three water hazards that come into play.
So who will tame the golf course this year and come away with the victory?
Oddsmakers aren’t taking any chances or stretching for another player to get the win here. 2012 John Deere Betting Odds available at Bovada Sportsbook have set Stricker as the overall favorite to win a fourth-straight title here this week. Stricker is going off at 7/1, which is nearly twice the favorite as the next-closest player on the betting lines.
Zach Johnson is the player set behind Stricker, going off at 12/1 on the payout. But as you can see, there is certainly a big disparity between Stricker and the rest of the field, a type of line we do not normally see unless Tiger Woods is playing. Woods is obviously not in the field this week.
Behind Stricker and Johnson, the odds jump up even more, all the way to 20/1 for Nick Watney. And from there, the pattern continues. Jonathan Byrd and Ryan Palmer round out the top-five favorites this week at TPC Deere Run, both going off at 25/1.
Coverage of the 2012 John Deere Classic gets underway on Thursday afternoon on the Golf Channel beginning at 3pm ET for the first two rounds Then on the weekend, it’s CBS who picks up the coverage, also beginning at 3pm ET.
Below, we have the full betting odds to win the 2012 John Deere Classic as seen on Bovada, so if we didn’t mention your favorite player who happens to be in the field, they will be on this list. Be sure to check them out and see how the odds stack up.
